Fund Overview for Gabelli Gold Fund AAA

The Gabelli Gold Fund, Inc. seeks to provide investors with long term capital appreciation.

Principal Investment Strategies:
Under normal circumstances, the Fund invests at least 80% of its net assets in equity securities of foreign and domestic issuers principally engaged in gold-related activities and gold bullion. The Fund seeks to achieve its objective by focusing on stocks that are undervalued, but which appear to have favorable prospects for growth. Because most of the world's gold production is outside of the United States, the Fund expects that a significant portion of its assets may be invested in securities of foreign issuers, including those located in developed as well as emerging markets.

The Fund may appeal to you if:

  • you are seeking a long-term goal such as retirement
  • you are looking to add an aggressive growth component to your portfolio
  • you are willing to accept higher risks of investing in a sector of the stock market in exchange for long-term returns

Investment in gold stocks is considered speculative and is affected by a variety of worldwide economic, financial and political factors. The Fund may be subject to significant volatility and investors may experience substantial loss of value in a short period of time. The Gabelli Gold Fund invests in foreign securities which involves risks not ordinarily associated with investments in domestic issues, including currency fluctuation, economic and political risks. Funds concentrating in specific sectors may experience greater fluctuations in value than funds that are more diversified.

Investors should carefully consider the investment objectives, risks, charges and expenses of the Fund before investing. The prospectus, which contains more complete information about this and other matters, should be read carefully before investing. To obtain a prospectus, please call 800-GABELLI or visit
