Fund Overview for Gabelli Small Cap Growth C

The Gabelli Small Cap Growth Fund seeks to provide a high level of capital appreciation.

Principal Investment Strategies:
Under normal market conditions, the Fund invests at least 80% of its net assets in equity securities of companies that are considered to be small companies at the time the Fund makes its investment. The Fund invests primarily in the common stocks of companies which the Fund's investment adviser, Gabelli Funds, LLC (the 'Adviser'), believes are likely to have rapid growth in revenues and above average rates of earnings growth. The Adviser currently characterizes small companies as those with total market values of $3 billion or less at the time of investment.

The Fund may appeal to you if:

  • you are a long-term investor
  • you seek growth of capital
  • you believe that the market will favor small capitalization stocks over the long term

Securities of smaller companies present greater risks than securities of larger, more established companies. The stocks of smaller companies may trade less frequently and experience more abrupt price movements than stocks of larger companies, therefore, investing in this sector involves special challenges.

Investors should carefully consider the investment objectives, risks, charges and expenses of the Fund before investing. The prospectus, which contains more complete information about this and other matters, should be read carefully before investing. To obtain a prospectus, please call 800-GABELLI or visit
