To all our GAMCO clients who could not attend our 25^th Annual Client Conference at the Pierre on Friday, May 14^th. We thought we would share with you some thoughts and highlights. Our Hall of Fame nominees included: - Robert Allen, President & CEO of Broadview Security - Roger Carr, Chairman of Cadbury - James Mazzo, Chairman & CEO of Advanced Medical Optics - Robert Pohlad, Chairman & CEO of PepsiAmerica. These were individuals that led organizations that grew values and allowed them to surface for the benefit of our shareholders. In particular, I would like to share the video of Roger Carr’s (Chairman of Cadbury) comments. In addition, we awarded the Gabelli Graham & Dodd, Murray, Greenwald Prize, which has currently over a million dollars, to Chuck Royce of the Royce Funds. A Columbia MBA and CEO of Royce Funds, Chuck Royce has been and is very instrumental in focusing value investing on “the small cap universe”. Frank Fahrenkopf Jr., former Chairman of the Republican Party under Reagan, shared with us his observations on the upcoming election. His slides are available upon request.
