Objective
The GAMCO Gold Fund, Inc. seeks to provide investors with long-term appreciation of capital
Principal Investment Strategies:
Under normal circumstances, the Fund invests at least 80% of its net assets in equity securities of foreign and domestic issuers principally engaged in gold-related activities. The Fund seeks to achieve its objective by focusing on stocks that are undervalued but have favorable prospects for growth. The Fund concentrates its investments in gold-related industries.
The Fund may appeal to you if:
are seeking a long-term goal such as retirement
are looking to add an aggressive growth component to your portfolio
are willing to accept higher risks of investing in a sector of the stock market in exchange for long-term returns
You may not want to invest in the Fund if:
seeking monthly income
pursuing a short-term goal or investing emergency reserves
seeking safety of principal
Investment in gold stocks is considered speculative and is affected by a variety of worldwide economic, financial and political factors. The Gabelli Gold Fund invests in foreign securities which involves risks not ordinarily associated with investments in domestic issues, including currency fluctuation, economic and political risks.
The Fund's share price will fluctuate with changes in the market value of the Fund's portfolio securities.
Stocks are subject to market, economic and business risks that cause their prices to fluctuate. When you
sell Fund shares, they may be worth less than what you paid for them. Consequently, you can lose
money by investing in the Fund.
Investors should consider the investment objectives, risks, sales charges and expense of the fund carefully before investing. The prospectus contains more complete information about this and other matters. The prospectus should be read carefully before investing.
